Esther & Co is a fast-paced online women's fashion company based in Sydney. We have an amazing team who has recently switched to remote working! 

It's an exciting time to be part of the brand and we can't wait to find the perfect new addition to our Product Team.

About the role

Working closely alongside the CEO/Buyer to develop new monthly/seasonal ranges, the Product Developer & Designer is responsible for overseeing all monthly/seasonal products under development, both local and offshore.

Your sharp sense of style along with your design training will ensure that you are able to follow through your designs from initial sketch to final sample, whilst embracing our brand's vision.


  • Follow critical path of product lifecycle from concept/development to delivery

  • Creating and managing details tech packs with technical drawing and details plus spec sheets including measurements, fabric and trims information

  • Manage and record sample purchases

  • Hold fit sessions and communicate with the manufacturer of any changes, approvals or updates after fitting.

  • Follow approvals processes for lab dips, trims and pre production samples

  • Maintain bulk and sample approval library

  • Cost confirmation with suppliers

  • Sourcing and researching new overseas suppliers

  • Liaise with internal departments and off-shore suppliers to ensure deadlines are met

  • Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure production runs to schedule.

Skills and experience

  • Prior experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar role is essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or relevant field

  • An understanding of design from a technical perspective; i.e appropriate fabric selection, garment fittings, technical specifications and production sketches

  • Capability in negotiating costs and margins

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Thorough understanding of Excel and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and InDesign.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and reactive environment

  • A creative and collaborative approach to design

  • The ability to multitask and prioritise while working within a fast paced environment

  • A strong desire to succeed

  • Great problem solving skills.
