About the role

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

As the Director - Retail Institute, you will be tasked with delivering the strategy, implementing and monitoring a business growth plan that will continue the growth of the Retail Institute.   

You will:

  • Lead and grow the Retail Institute to provide the retail industry with quality education and training for Members and other stakeholders by providing outstanding levels of training and support to business owners and their employees

  • Ensure an overall team culture and HR practices for both team members and contractors who work with a high level of productivity and autonomy ensuring a spirit of honesty, integrity and teamwork

  • Encourage an overall Retail Institute team culture of professional performance, innovation and continuous improvement without taking major risks

  • Lead the development, coordination, execution and monitoring of the total Retail Institute’s total business growth strategy, business plan and financial budgets with the support and input of the CEO

  • Ensure that the Retail Institute successfully delivers on its contractual obligations and retains its compliance as a Registered Training Organisation.


About You

This is a full time and permanent role. To be considered for this role we will require you to have:

  • Several years experience working at a senior level in a Commercial/Operations/HR/Organisational Design role.  Experience in the Vocational Education & Training (VET) sector or Commercial Institutes would be advantageous

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications. A Diploma of Vocational Education or similar would be highly desirable

  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high performing teams

  • Been financially responsible for Profit & Loss

  • Superior internal & stakeholder management experience 

  • Proven success presenting to and working closely with agreed external Committees and Boards

  • The ability to travel interstate on a regular basis or as required

  • Have full Australian working rights.
